It lies 14 km southeast of Harran, standing ca. 9 m high above the plain level, and 384 m above the sea level. Also called Biraburgeç, it has a complete conic form. It looks small with a size of 14.210 squaremeters and a volume of 29.778 cubicmeters [Yardimci 2001a:46]. The base diameter is 180 m in the north-south direction, and 130 m in the east-west direction [Yardimci 2004: 91]. Based on the surface finds, the following periods were identified: - Chalcolithic Age (Halaf, plain ware) - Early Bronze Age (sandy rough ware, body fragments) - 1st Millennium BC (cream slipped sandy ware) [Yardimci 2004:92] - Classical Ages (terra sigillata body fragment) - Medieval-Islamic Period [Yardimci 2001a:46] |
