Traces of a settlement were found on the three elevations lined up from north to south at Karaagaç Mevkii; 1 km south of the village it was named after; northwest of Sungurlu District; southwest of Çorum Province. Although no further information is provided; it is obvious that those elevations are natural hills. T. Sipahi and T. Yildirim who conducted a survey in Çorum Province in 1997 collected pottery of the EBA and the first millennium BC from the southern and the middle hills. They also collected pottery of the first millennium BC and the late period from the northern hill. |
