It was researched within the scope of "Adana (Ceyhan); and Kayseri (Develi) survey" performed by S. Girginer et al. in 2005. It is located 900 m south from Karakayali Village; and it has an average height of 10 m. It is also known as Killi Höyük. The agricultural activities; soil removal; and the canal built for drying out the land increased the destruction at the skirts of the mound especially on the western and the northeastern parts.Except for the partly preserved terra cotta spindl whorl there is pottery found dating to Chalcolithic Age; Iron Age from 2nd Millenium BC; and especially Roman and Byzantien periods [Girginer 2007: 179]. |
