It lies 500 m west of Basaran Village between the Incipinari and Bektasaga roads; north of Erfelek; west-southwest of Sinop Province. It is an oval mound. It measures 5 m in height and 70x60 m in dimensions. It was discovered during a survey conducted by M. A. Isin in 1989-90. The number of the surface material collected is poor due to the crops. Sand-tempered; light brown colored ware is suggested to be dated to the EBA. Also found are sherds of the Roman Period. It takes place in the registered archaeological sites list prepared by Ministry of Culture and Tourism. |
