It is located in Akhan Sub-District; immediate east of Denizli Province. The cemetery was discovered during the digging process of a field possessed by Ali Acar. It was excavated in 2000 by a team of the Denizli Archaeological Museum under A. Ceylan; S. Kök and C. Sevinç. 60 pithos graves were uncovered during the excavation. Some housed single burials. There were two or three burials in the others. The pithos were produced by the beige-yellow colored ware with a pointed base and neck. The lengths range from 1.5 to 3 m. They were placed into the grave pit slightly leaning to one side. The mouths were directed toward the east. The burials were laid down into the graves in hocker position. Into some of the graves; spouted pitchers; copper daggers and a few copper-bronze goods were left. It is suggested that the cemetery was occupied between 3000 and 2500 BC. Most probably; the settlement of this cemetery lays beneath the modern houses of the village.
