It is located on the western bank of the Çatak Stream, 250 m southwest of the Erikbelli Quarter in the Karamukmolla Village of the Merkez District in Kastamonu. It lies on a quite flat area. It has an approximate diameter of 100 m, and a height of 8-9 m. It is situated on a plateau at an altitude of 1168 m between the east basin of the Araç/Ilgaç Brook and the basin of the Daday Brook, western tributary of Gökirmak. Traces of illicit digging are observed at some spots. Based on the testimony of the villagers, 20-30 years ago the pits were larger, and there were more sherds. As it is covered with dense vegetation and the pits were filled in time, very restricted number of material was collected. They were dated to the EBA II-III, Middle Bronze Age, and Late Bronze Age. There are also sherds which can be dated to the Iron Age. Although there was no Iron Age finds in 1955 when it was discovered by C.A. Burney, presence of EBA and Hittite Period ceramics as well as abundant number of elaborate grey ware of the Iron Age was reported by Voute-Donceel who conducted a short survey in 1977.
