It is situated 600-750 m east of the Yanciklar or Nacak (-lar) Village, 1.5 km north of the Yeniköy Village, 18 km south of provincial center of Kirklareli. It can be accessed through the Yeniköy junction, 12 km after the exit to Babaeski on the Babaeski-Kirklareli motorway. The site is 4.9 km from the junction. The road between Yeniköy and Karabayir passes through the northern section of the mound. A short-term salvage excavation was conducted in 1981 by a team under the direction of M. Özdogan due to the destruction resulting from sand removal for constructions and bunkers from the underlying layers of the mound which lies on the eastern bank of Seytanderesi. It resulted in a large crack with very long cross-sections in the middle of the mound. Based on the distribution of sherds, it measures around 180x130 m in dimensions, and based on the cross-section in the crack, the cultural deposit appears not to be thicker than 1 m [Özdogan 1982b:3-4]. In the 1 m thick cultural deposit there is a large crack which divides the settlement from one end to the other, allowing to trace many floors and pits. Based on these traces and surface finds, there are three levels: 1. Late Chalcolithic-EBA transition level, 2. EBA, 3. Iron Age.
Location: The site lies approximately 18 km south of Kirklareli; 1.5 km north of Yeniköy Village; 600-750 m east of Yanciklar or Nacaklar Village. One can get to the mound via Babaeski-Kirklareli highway taking Yeniköy road after 12 km from Babaeski. The settlement is 4.9 km from Yeniköy turning. The road between Yeniköy and Karabayir passes through northern section of the mound.
Geography and Environment: The site was severely damaged by taking out sand; for producing cement; from the layers below the cultural deposit. Therefore; a large pit with very long sections was formed at the center. The mound; located on the east bank of Seytanderesi; measures 180x130 m due to the distribution of ceramics. The thickness of the cultural deposit is not more than 1 m at the section [Özdogan 1982b:3-4]. Two little creeks from the slopes of Eski Baglik and Kocayer join and empty into Seytanderesi.
