It is located at Çakir Mevkiii, 30 m south of the Tersakan Brook, 2.5 km north of the Baslamis Village, northwest of the Ladik District in Samsun. It was discovered in 2002 during the survey conducted by M. Özsait, and it was named after the location as Çakir Höyük. The mound lies 150 m northwest of Asagi Degirmen, west of the Asagi Stream flowing through the village. It has a base diameter of 120 m, and sherds belonging to the EBA, Iron Age, Hellenistic and Roman settlements were collected from the surface. |
