It consists of many building remains and a watchtower possibly built for the protection of the settlement, which are situated 3 km northeast of Polatköy, 5 km northeast of Arpaçay in Kars. The west and northwest sections of the watchtower are enclosed by cliffs. Since a major part of the settlement has been cultivated, the remains have been heavily destroyed. Considering that it was founded across the Polat Fortress, it can be related with this fortress. The ceramic data indicate the EBA and Iron Age. |
