It is located between the Hacitugrul Village and the Yenidogan railway station at the 60th kms of the Ankara-Polatlı motorway. It is referred as Yenidogan Mound or Külhöyük in previous publications. It is 888 m high above the sea level, measuring 650x600x24 m in dimensions. It has been surrounded by five tumuli. It was excavated by the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations between 1972 and 1979, yielding layers belonging to the Hittite, Phrygian and Persian Periods. |
