It lies on the side of the modern Cildir-Kars motorway, north of Akçakale on the shore of the Lake Çildir in the Çildir District of Ardahan. Another structure similar to the monuments regarded as Cromlech or Kurgan at Akçakale was found at the spot where the motorway and the shoreline become flatter. When compared to other specimens in the region, they are probably vertical stones as described by K. Kökten rather than the kurgan or cromlech monuments sharing many common features with the ones at Akçakale with a distance of 1 km. However, at present they have been damaged to a great extent due to rise of the lake waters and the motorway passing by, which resulted in lack of identification of the site. Yet, structural remains can be obviously traced. Traces of wall streching until the lake shore indicate that some sections have been submerged. K. Kökten reported presence of two flat settlements to the north of the lake [Kökten 1953:177-209], but provided no information about the name and location of the sites, where one of them was probably referring to these remains.
