| Xenophon mentions crowded villages within the inland part of the Haven of Calpe while describing Calpe, a harbor town between Byzantium and Heracleia and its environs (Anabasis, VI, 4, 3-6). Kanzares (Kandira ?) is probably one of these villages [Sevin 2001a:38]. |
