It stands on the outcrop of Ince Burun on the shore of Marmara Sea; about 12 km west of Sarköy District; Tekirdag Province. The lighthouse to the northeast is known as Ince Burun Lighthouse and the area as Karatas Mevkii. It was discovered by M.A. Isin; director of the Museum of Tekirdag. The settlement has been severely destroyed by a Byzantine church. The cultural fill lies beneath the church and to the west of it. EBA pottery came out of the western part of the church. To the north was found a workshop for polished stone axes. It takes place in the registered archaeological sites list prepared by Ministry of Culture and Tourism. |
