Location: It lies 18 km northeast of Harput. The hill where the cave is located is on the slope of the plateau (1020 m) between the Harput and Murat Rivers. The cave is situated on top of this hill (1200 m). It has an overview of the dam lake of Keban.
Geography and Environment: Ice can be seen in the cave for all seasons. The richness of the decorations varies depending on the shortage or abundance of the water leaking from the ceiling. As it is descended down; the icing on the surface of the rocks increases; which results in restricted activity. The chimneys which have connections to the ground provide a strong air currency inside the cave. Local people believes that the ice can be used for the treatment of some diseases.
