Geography and Environment: It was formed within the Miocene conglomerate. It is partly conglomerate; and partly limestone. It is an active cave which developed horizontally with a length of about 7 km. The increased water level in the cave in spring may prevent explorations. The ponds inside the cave have different elevations. There are differences in the water levels between summer and winter (ranging from 68 m to 128 m). It was observed that in winter there was a flow of 12 cubic meters/second through the entry tunnel [Chabert et al. 1978b:4-9]. |
