| Explanation: The excavations carried out in four separate areas such as acropolis, southern terrace, western slope and outside the southern terrace have revealed the presence of a continuous occupation from the Middle Chalcolithic Age to the Middle Iron Age (Middle and Late Chalcolithic, EBA, MBA, LBA, First IA, Middle IA). The stratification is as follows;
Building level 1, Middle Iron Age (Urartian Period); building level 2, Early Iron Age; building levels 3-5, second millennium BC; building levels 6-8, EBA III C; building levels 9-10, EBA III B; building levels 11-12; EBA III A; building levels 13-20; EBA II B; building levels 21-24, EBA II A; building levels 25-30, EBA I B; abandonment, EBA I A; building levels 31-40, Late Chalcolithic Age. The three 14C specimens of Norsuntepe belonging to the Late Chalcolithic Age are from the layers of the Late Chalcolithic Age. The only sample available from EBA I is not included in the table of Bln 2357. |
