It lies 1.5 km west of the Bugdayli Village, 12 km southwest of the Silopi District in Sirnak. It measures 130x200x13 m in dimensions, and traces of deep ploughing are observed on the mound as well as some illicitly dug pits to the west. Furthermore, the mound has been severely destroyed by the pathway running from the south. The major ware groups observed during the survey include incised vessels of Amuq A, incised and coarse vessels of Neolithic ware, thick walled large storage jars of the 2nd Millennium BC, grooved and relief band decorated jugs of the 2nd Millennium BC, painted Habur ware, sherds of the Early Iron Age, New Assyrian, Hellenistic and glazed Middle Age ware [Kozbe 2006:297]. |
